Meeting of Bavaria's UNESCO World Heritage Sites

On March 11, 2025, the meeting of the Bavarian World Heritage Sites Working Group took place in Bamberg. This professional exchange always provides valuable insights for our own work and allows us to develop solutions to the challenges we face together.

Bavaria has a total of 10 World Heritage Sites: Würzburg Residence and Court Garden, Die Wies Pilgrimage Church, Bamberg Old Town, Borders of the Roman Empire: Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes, Regensburg Old Town with Stadtamhof, Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps, Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth, Augsburg Water Management System, The Great Spa Towns of Europe, and The Frontiers of the Roman Empire: Danube Limes (Western Section).

The meeting concluded with a guided tour by Dr. Simona von Eyb through the World Heritage Visitor Center and an exclusive tour by Dr. Birgit Kastner through St. Andrew’s Chapel and the roof truss of Bamberg Cathedral.

It was such a pleasure to have you all as guests in Bamberg!
