UNESCO World Heritage Day 2026 in Bamberg

On UNESCO World Heritage Day 2026, the visitor centre at the Bamberg World Heritage Centre became a vibrant hub of exchange, thanks to a varied programme and numerous visitors. Talks, hands-on activities and creative sessions offered a range of opportunities to discover Bamberg’s UNESCO World Heritage Site and engage in conversation with one another.

Special thanks go to the Bamberg Migrants’ Advisory Board, which enriched the programme with fascinating contributions and opportunities for shared discussion. Jonas Ochs also provided a special highlight with his creative children’s rap workshop, delighting the younger visitors.

Under the motto ‘Together for Peace and Understanding’, World Heritage Day also sent a strong message in favour of peaceful coexistence. To round off the day, numerous visitors wrote down their personal wishes for peace and released them into the sky on biodegradable balloons.

The Bamberg World Heritage Centre would like to extend its warmest thanks to all those involved and to the visitors who helped shape UNESCO World Heritage Day and made it a special day for peace, understanding and shared experiences.
