    World Heritage and Sustainability

Why is a World Heritage Site a model for sustainable development? Students of European Ethnology at the University of Bamberg explored this question in a joint exhibition project with the Bamberg World Heritage Center. The result is a series of new perspectives and creative contributions that are now being presented for the first time.
The exhibition “World Heritage and Sustainability” will open with a vernissage and invites visitors to discover the results of the students’ work. The focus is on exploring different dimensions of sustainability in the historic urban space, as well as the significance of Bamberg’s UNESCO World Heritage Site as a living, working, and experiential space that has evolved over time.

We cordially invite you to the vernissage and look forward to seeing you there and engaging in a shared exchange of ideas.

The opening reception will take place on July 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Bamberg World Heritage Center.
